A lot of bands talk about balance in their songs. The balance of catchy, pop sensible vocal hooks with the raging energy of a rock n roll riot. All bands want it but most don’t have the guts to try. Louisville, Kentucky’s Hot Wires roar back with their second full length release entitled “Dark Energy” on Gubbey Records to deliver fuzzed out guitar rowdiness, high energy grooves, and a solid, pulsating rhythmic core. The album is stacked with sing along anthems inspiring you to raise your beer glass high combined with rampaging energy drenched in Ohio river dirtwater. Hot Wires evoke similarities to Sonic Rendezvous, Radio Birdman, The Rolling Stones, with a good helping of Deep Purple to not only perfect this balance but to charge ahead of the pack.

Performing and releasing material since 2011’s “Cockpit Tiger” EP core members Brian Gray (guitar, lead vocals) and Brad White (drums, vocals) add Louisville rock/punk vets Robby Scott (ex Christiansen, Ritual Void, By The Grace Of God) on lead guitar and Chase Coryell (ex Cougar Express) on bass to round out the sound.

This new album explores sonic concepts of futuristic, interplanetary space travel through the lens of a protagonist escaping the mundanity and obedience of planet earth, vacating their bondage to explore the unknown galactic horizon. A chaotic mission of discovery and escape. Fleeing the routine of a prison planet to fearlessly envelop oneself inside the unknown. Hot Wires provide the soundtrack to this formidable journey and encourage the listener to break free from the normal and enter the trance of their sonic void.
